The group developed from an initiative by Clare Colton in 2011, who recognised that the children of Crosby High School needed a programme of Social Inclusion to minimise the effects of isolation that some of the children were experiencing within their own community.
The programme for Social Inclusion was initially planned to provide social evenings at the school, so that children and families could meet and interact in a relaxed atmosphere. The programme was later expanded so that the children and their families could meet up in the school holidays and enjoy days out at some of the finest locations in the North of England.
At the first meeting a group of Parents/Carers agreed to form a committee to support the children in the way that Clare had envisaged. The group adopted the name of Crosby High Childrens Support Group. Since then the group has become stronger because of the hard work and dedication of its members.
